What Can You Expect in A Therapy Session?
You and I will sit together for 50 minutes, and you will tell me what is most on your mind. We might begin with silence, a chance for both of us to ground into the space, but if you don’t wish to do that we can go straight in to whatever you wish to bring. At the beginning of our work together we will discuss where you’d like to focus, and we will review this at six weeks to see if it feels like this way of working is helpful, and whether you’d like to continue.
The kind of psychotherapy I practice is relational, which means that I bring myself very much into the process. I do not sit quietly and leave you to wonder what I’m thinking – I engage with you fully, while giving you ample space to bring whatever needs come into the session. I don’t presume to “fix” your problems, but I help you tap into your own inner power and awareness. I may employ techniques such as visualisation, drawing or dialogue with inner voices to challenge clients to fully live their lives, but above all I offer support and a safe and confidential place in which the process of healing and growth may thrive.
Testimonial:
“ I have seen Susan for 8 years through which time she has helped me navigate deep rooted issues as well as providing love and support on day to day difficulties and concerns. Susan listens without judgement and offers direction from both a spiritual and practical perspective. The warmth radiates from her and has led to our discussions being open and soul searching. I could not recommend Susan enough.”
